About Paragon

a New Adult Historical Fantasy that asks if beauty really is skin deep.

Set against a fantastical fairyland in the heart of Minnesota, Percy Paragon was blessed six times and cursed once by a well-meaning fairy who paid dearly for her mistake. Cursed with the "gift" of love at first sight, anyone who looks the young heiress in the eye is destined for the sanitarium, consumed by their love for her. When she meets a reckless magician with a secret of his own, her world is turned upside down as they embark on a journey to break curses both seen and not.

About

Kate began writing Paragon in the sleepless hours of early motherhood, when a simple retelling grew into a story about identity and the quiet burdens women are asked to bear.

After a decade in corporate PR telling other people’s stories, she turned to her own—crafting folkloric romantasy inspired by overlooked historic places. Her debut, set in Gilded Age St. Paul, reimagines Sleeping Beauty through a cursed debutante and the streetcar conductor who derails her careful life.

She writes from her house in the woods of the Midwest, where her children roam, her garden runs wild, and her bourbon shelf is rarely empty.
